Malakai World is all about collaboration. That means every world is open, and every story and every character you find here can be used to create your own content.
You like a world someone created? Dive in and contribute to it! If you find a character you like, you can write them into a story. If you enjoyed someone else's story, you can write a prequel or sequel to it. You can create sidekicks for characters created by someone else. You can invent a hero to match someone else's villain, or vice versa, then write a story where they go head to head. Then watch as someone else writes a different version of it. The only limits are your imagination.
Remember to mention which Creator inspired you if you're using one of their characters or stories for your own work. They'll do the same for you.

1. Sign up for an account
To create Worlds, Stories and Characters here, you need to have a Creator account. It's free. All it takes is a couple of clicks and you can start creating right now!
2. Create content
Use the templates provided in the menu to craft original assets or build unique new worlds that expand the Malakai World platform. Browse existing content for inspiring stories and characters to help you hatch ideas. It's all connected!
3. Share your work
The more people see your work, the more the community grows and the more exposure you achieve. Use the 'Share' button to send a link to your network of friends, family, and acquaintances. Every 'view' and every 'like' counts!
4. Become published
There could be a book deal at this end of this rainbow! Since anything you post here make you eligible for our publishing program, every new asset you create increases your chances to be published. You retain full ownership of anything you create and you automatically grant a licence to Malakai World for its use. That means we pay you royalties on anything we sell that has your work in or on it (see T&Cs below).

through your stories
Start with a world, either one you have built, or one that already exists on the platform. Everything in a world is yours to use, change, and expand at will. The same goes for any subsequent story, character, or asset that anyone posts here.
Think of a world here as the trunk of a narrative tree. You and the other Creators can now build your own branches, leaves, roots, and more to turn that tree into a rich forest.
You can save your assets as work in progress before you publish them. All your assets, published or not, appear on the 'My Assets' page of your account. You retain full copyright over any asset you create and you automatically grant a licence to Malakai World to commercialise your content on your behalf and pay you royalties on every sale.

Characters hold a story together. So make them rich, complex, multi-dimensional, unpredictable! In other words, make them real so every person who comes into contact with them will remember them, care about them, and root for them.
Use the template provided to flesh out the different facets of your character. The entries you make will help you, and anyone else, map out how that character makes choices in a story. The more characters exist in the Malakai World, the more stories can take place. It's all up to you.

You can use GenAI tools to help you create text and visuals where and when you need them, at the touch of a button.
The AI-powered chat (the purple square with text bubble in the corner of your screen) is your creative companion. It can be useful to enhance a character, draft or refine a story outline, or generate ideas for twists in your tales. It can also help generate a description for your world and your characters. Be sure to edit what it gives you so your voice stands out in the final output.
To illustrate what your worlds and characters look like, you have the option to use our AI-powered visual engine to generate an image of them from your character descriptions. You can try as many times as you want until you find one that suits you. Of course, you can also do your own genAI work offline and upload the result instead.
