Space elevator

Built by the Japanese, this space elevator provides access to Martian orbit and is built of carbone nanotubes and graphene threads. Because it bypasses launch pads, it makes space travel far more efficient. It's a miracle it wasn't destroyed during the Big Dump when dozens of spaceships crash-landed on the Red Planet.
